What I was wearing today

Today we went to an art exposition (in fact, it was the opening) of a friend of ours. He's an Italian artist living in Switzerland from time to time. I'm not much into modern arts. I guess I'm very old-fashioned in many ways. But he's a very generous, lovely person (and believe me, he really knows how to paint), and I also love his sense of humour. It was a sunny, mild day, so we were happy to leave for a trip.

I chose a grey skirt, part of a two-piece dress I made for our autumn holiday last year (and about which I still want to post) and a silk twin-set I bought ages ago (believe me - ages!). The skirt is made after a late 1940s pattern. The shoes are true 1940s, I bought them as a deadstock pair some months ago from a girl from Germany, they are probably a tad too long, but so comfortable. In excellent condition. The purse is a true 1940s corde crochet clutch I bought about a year ago. Later I found a typical lucite zipper pull condition that usually came along with those purses. Both are in almost mint condition and are now a perfect pair. My scarf is a true WW2 accessory, featuring lots of mostly English places and quotes. So adorable, so special. I guess it was the point I fell in love with vintage souvenir scarfs.

The brooch is a 1940s really plastic brooch I found on Etsy. I was also wearing a pair of pearl and brilliant diamond earring my husband gave me for our wedding.
